Cardzillion Set Three

Information About this Set

These cards were available in Toys R Us Cardzillion vending machines and cost $0.25 a card. The machines were located right past the cash registers, but before the exit doors. This set has several possible backs, the most common are Sailor Moon, Amy, Raye, Lita, and Mina. The information on backs includes a description of whatever is on the front of the card and a little commentary bubble in which the chosen character gets a few lines for personal thoughts. The characters generally appear on the back if they are on the front unless there is a group shot and if that is the case then the character on the back is random. The backs also say "Series 3" on the top right corner, it is the only set in this series that is marked in such a way.

All of the cards in this set are printed on standard size and type trading card paper, the same kind used for set two. Also like set two, all the cards feature a gold embossed "Sailor Moon" logo on them. It is unknown if all the cards are loose in the box or if they are halved into two smaller unmarked boxes as I have heard about with other Cardzillion boxes from other TV Series'.

Some people have a problem with card 116 of this set because it says "Prizma" across the front banner but really shows Catsy as the main figure of the shot (even though Prizma is clearly visible behind her). This set also does not feature the blue/purple color variation that effects the other two sets in this series.

Release Info Released by Bandai in 1997.
Distribution Info Cards per Box: 500 with duplicates

Other items were sold or obtained separately.
Card box states the back side of the cards should face upward when placed in the dispenser.
Best Storage All these cards fit perfectly well in standard protective sheets of 9 slots. The box will presumably fit in an 8 ½" x 11" one slot sheet, but as I don't own one I can't say for sure. The vending machine is too large for any protective method that I know, unless you cover it with a trash bag. The sheets are available at BCW Supplies.
