Cardzillion Set One Blue Edition ![]() Information About this Set These cards were available in Toys R Us Cardzillion vending machines and cost $0.25 a card. The machines were located right past the cash registers, but before the exit doors. Each card has one of five possible backs: Serena's Sailor Moon Quiz, Amy's Astronomy Workshop, Raye's Sailor Moon Quiz, Lita's Cooking Workshop, or Sailor Venus Presents. The general pattern is that whoever is featured on the front gets the spot on back. All the cards also have a gold or silver embossed "Sailor Moon" logo on them. The cards in the first set were printed on thinner paper than the other two sets for an unknown reason. When they ran out of set two cards, they redistributed the set one cards again before the set three ones were released. Despite being available for a second time, the first set prisms are the second hardest North American chase cards to find, behind only the Action Flipz 3D Rare. It is unknown if all the cards are loose in the box or if they are halved into two smaller unmarked boxes as I have heard about with other Cardzillion boxes from other TV Series'. Variations and Misprints: This set, like many others and probably unintentionally, was released in two different color variations: one blue and one purple. This means that for every card that has blue on it, there is another card out there that has purple on it (instead of the blue and vise versa). Most of the time these variations are just mixed together and many people don't bother to sort them out. This is due to the fact that many don't care as the coloring difference is only in the blue and purple colors and that, on some of the cards, it can be very difficult to tell which variation it is (due to the fact that on some the only way to tell is by the small dot of color in between the "Sailor" and "Moon" of the logo). And if you really want to be technically and a purest there is really three different variations: blue, purple, and blue/purple. However most people ignore the last one and just consider them blue, even though they are darker then the blue variation. Among the pictures below, there is a set of fronts and backs to show this color variation in the different forms it can appear on these cards. The scanner kind of messed with the colors just a bit but the variations are still pretty visible with the blue card being first and the purple card being second. The first two cards are examples of when the background has the color variation, one being on a prism and the other on a regular card. The third card shows the color variation in the colored circle around the logo and the last card shows the most annoying one with the variation being the small dot of color in between the words of the logo. There are also clear color variations on the backs of the cards as well. These two images are keep at a very large size so they can be examined closely. There is also a misprint on some of the cards where the gold or silver foil for the Sailor Moon logo was not added so the logo appears black. ![]()
