Family Tree

Gemshot Seafire was a rouge in every sense of the word. His goal in life was to be rich by stealing. He was caught stealing from the ruling families as a teen and was going to be put to death. But every time they tried, he would escape. So they exiled him from the village.
He made his way to the great city of Asgard and took up life as a beggar. Now he wouldn't really beg, he would pretend and if they refused he would just rob them. He had gained some notoriety on his travels so many of the other thieves stayed clear of his ground.
As an elf he also had excellent hearing. So even if someone was planning something he knew before hand. He used this to his advantage when hunting for whom to target next. But this is also what got him into trouble. Others did not like being told what they hadn't told anyone else.
It was his good hearing and cocky attitude that lead him to a ship called the Myrrdin.

Gemshot looked around and then climbed swiftly aboard the vessel. He slipped into the hold and found a comfortable place to hide. He could here the ship's crew above him as he settled in.
"Well mate, looks like this should be a promising venture," he said in his Aylindril accent.
*Note he actually has an auzzie accent, but since Australia doesn't exist on our map, I changed it to Aylindril hehe*
He heard the captain give the order to set sail and he smiled.
He closed his eyes and fell asleep. When he woke, they were still sailing. He wondered where they were. He went over what he had heard.
"Cap't why are we in this order port?" asked one of the crew.
"Fer one we have to sell our booty and two me Lady wishes a visit," he said in a guff as he drank more ale.
"Where we going after the visit?" ask another of his men.
"Port Royal, heard tell of an Old Coat there given hints to his treasure. We follow the others and take it from underneath them," said the captain.
Gemshot, sitting a few tables away, listened to the hushed voices and smirked. He followed the men as they left the pub and watched which ship they boarded.
Gemshot looked around and decided that there was no threat to his position and went back to sleep. This was a bad idea, however, because when he woke he found himself behind some iron bars.

"Well this is interesting," he said and looked around.
He looked around and decided that he must be in the captain's cabin.
"What are ye doin' on me ship?" came a voice.
Gemshot saw the captain standing in the doorway. He walked over to his desk and sat down. He poured himself a mug and waited for an answer.
"How did I get in this fix?" asked Gemshot and ran his fingers over the bars.
"You were sleepin' in my hold. So I knocked ya on the head and threw you in there," said the captain.
Gemshot rubbed the back of his head and felt a large bump.
"Yep that would explain it," said Gemshot and sat down.
"So what are ye doin' on me ship?" asked the captain again.
"No need to get all pushy mate. Let's start with introductions, I am Gemshot Seafire," he said and held out his hand.
The captain stood up and walked over to him. He stood before Gemshot, grabbed his hand and pulled him roughly to the bars. He pulled out his dagger and held it to Gemshot's neck.
"I be Asherion Die, Cap't of the Myrrdin. Now what ye be doin' on me ship?" he asked, his voice showing his annoyance.
"Alright mate, take it easy," said Gemshot as he pulled his neck away from the blade and settled himself at the bottom of the cage, "I heard ye tellin' your mates of treasure in Port Royal."
"Maybe I should cut off yer ears then," said Ash as he moved towards the side.
"Hey now!" said Gemshot as he covered his ears, "Ya can't blame a thief for likin' treasure."
"True, but I can punish ye for stowin' away on me ship," said Ash with a smirk.
But Gemshot was saved as a member of the crew jerked open the door.
"Cap't we got a brig comin' up fast to port!" he said.

Gemshot was left in the captain's cabin while he listened to the rather frantic voice on the deck. Suddenly Asherion appeared and began to riffle around looking for something.
"Seems like ya got a bit of a problem mate," said Gemshot rather cocky.
Asherion stopped what he was doing and looked at Gemshot.
"Now I am gonna cut off yer ears," he said and walked towards the cage.
"Hey mate hold it!" said Gemshot and covered his ears again, "I can help ya if ya like."
"Oh," said Asherion and crossed his arms, "And just how do ye plan to do that in yer current situation?"
"Well it would help if ya let me out first," said Gemshot, but he could tell that was out of the question, "Alright then. Ya got a pirate brig to port and about a dutch hoy between ya. Ya give me what I need and they'll be sunk in no time."

*Note a Brig and a Dutch Hoy are two types of typical pirate ships.*

"And what is it ye be needin'?" asked Ash with a raised eyebrow.
"That my friend is a secret, but if ya let me out then I am sure I could find it on this fine vessel of yours," said Gemshot with a smile.
Asherion thought for a moment and then decided "what the hell" and opened the cage, "Just remember that when ye be finished its back ya go."
"Aye mate, whatever ya say," said Gemshot and climbed out.
It took him only a few moments to gather what he needed. He mixed the ingredients and placed them inside an old glass bottle. He stuffed a rag inside that was soaked in some strange liquid and grabbed a candle.
"Stand back mates," he said and lit it ablaze.
*Note this is not a Molotov cocktail hehe, more like a super powered explosion potion*
He threw it as fast as he could and advised everyone to duck. It hit the other brig like a cannonball and exploded. The ship went down quickly as the entire vessel caught fire. As it sank the sea began to burn and Asherion ordered his men to steer the ship away.
Gemshot stood with a small smile and looked at Asherion, "Well mate, I told ya."
"You do know that setting a vessel on fire at sea is against pirate code," said Ash.
"That wasn't a fire, sir, that was a sea fire," said Gemshot with a coy grin.
Asherion looked at him curiously. Before he could take him back to the cage, the cry came from the crow's nest that a survivor had been spotted. Asherion order his crew to retrieve the man, who he later found was an orc…
